BRITISH Strawberries FROM BERRIES DIRECT.

A brand new British Strawberry season is here and as berry growers deciding the moment to harvest is key, so we’re excited to announce we’ve recently started picking our new season spring crop strawberries at Hempnall and Martham; these delicious gems are heading direct into stores from our glasshouses at Berries Direct in Norfolk.

Our teams have been hard at work picking for the first few days on our farms and it is shaping up to be another great season and we’re looking forward to some good yields as the harvest progresses.

Malling™ Centenary kicks off the season with a strong start as it’s easy to pick, has a large, uniform shape and very consistent quality and flavour. As the season continues, we will be picking a large amount every day to satisfy our supermarket demand.

The Malling™ Centenary strawberry is among our favourite varieties and it’s also one for those that really know their strawberries! We see that consumers love them from all the wonderful feedback and comments we receive year after year as they are delivered into UK stores.

So far the conditions have been favourable and have allowed for a near perfect build of sugar levels and flavour profiles with a yield of high quality, clean fruit.

Currently the berries we are picking are large, plump, sweet and heavy; just how we like them and an example of the skill and expertise of our growing team.
