December.

quiet time on the farm

December is one of the quietest months at our farms in Norfolk. We finish picking and packing in the first few weeks of December. The glasshouses finally get a break from an intense season, however the plants stay in the glasshouses over the winter; resting and replenishing in readiness for their second crop in the Spring.

This is our opportunity to check over our glasshouses, systems and technology to make sure everything is ready for the next season. We cut off any fruit left on the plants in order to help them relax and go into a dormant state.

As our staff leave for a long Christmas break, this is our opportunity to clean caravans, make any repairs necessary and to plan for next season.
