November.

maintenance across the farm

In November we are still picking in our glasshouse. The technology and varieties that we use at our farms allows us to grow strawberries right through to the first week of December.

Although we are still picking in our glasshouses the volume has decreased. This allows us to spend time repairing crucial parts of the farm. There is irrigation to check and update, we repair our picking trolleys after two tough seasons of wear and tear. We also prepare the plants as they finish cropping so that they are ready to have their winter hibernation and rest ready for the next Spring crop.

In November we also remove the plants from our tunnels as we only use them for one crop at a time as it is an intense summer season for these plants.
