September.

Sharing our product locally

September was an unusually warm month with highs of 25⁰C.  This led to our Murano strawberries being determined to keep on supplying us with a late flush at the end of September, which we weren’t expecting. This meant a busy time out in the tunnels in the heat for our hard working teams (don’t worry we reward them with ice cream and cool drinks and they have plenty of time off)

We attended the Local Flavours Event at Norfolk Showground for the first time.  Ilja Pavlov our Farming Manager and Rachel Montague-Ebbs, Head of Brand, brought the farm to the showground with our own tabletop strawberry display.  Many people asked us how can there be British strawberries in late September and asked us were they real, they certainly were!

Ilja was interviewed by local newspaper Eastern Daily Press about all the hardwork we do at the farm.  It was great to share local produce with so many people who love where they live and we also got to sample a wide range of amazing food and drink from the region.

Meanwhile the plants for the autumn season that are resting up in our glasshouse had a few jobs done with them to make sure that they are in the best condition for the new season.
